Graven Images has been appointed as Interior Designers for BBC Scotland’s new Headquarters, at Pacific Quay, Glasgow.

Iain Marley, BBC Project Director said that; “Graven Images was chosen because of their infectious energy—their range of stimulating ideas really impressed the selection panel”. The panel’s verdict was “unanimous”.

The building was designed by David Chipperfield Architects following intense competition in 2001.

Ross Hunter, Director of Graven Images, says; “We are all really excited about the opportunity to do something of this importance in our home town—it’s a great building and a magnificent challenge.”

John Dee, Head of Design at the BBC said; “We were very impressed by the Graven Images projects we visited and by the wide range of work undertaken. Their appreciation of David Chipperfield’s building was impressive, their enthusiasm for the work of BBC Scotland was passionate, and their energy in the competition infectious. They will be great to work with.”

The appointment followed a selection process which also included DEGW and Sevil Peach Gence Associates.

The project is due for completion in 2007.
